Thou Shalt Not Covet: Do they make a 12-step program for this?
One of the reasons that this column is called 10th Commandment is because when I see something that I want to buy, I can become a bit obsessive about it. And when this happens, I know that my better angels are looking down on me thinking, “All the problems in the world, and you’re choosing to focus on this. Really, Belle, really?”
Such is the situation with the gray suede boots pictured above. I know that there is nowhere I can wear them (no jeans at work, I know it’s draconian) but I don’t care. I want to put them on a pedestal and just stare at them. But that would be idolatry, and yet another commandment falling by the wayside. So, what do you say, we just find a less expensive pair and actually wear them around?

I love the Coclico boots! I think you should obsess on ways to wear them that don’t require jeans because they are amazing.

I love the CL boots! I ordered them in August and they are on back order until the end of October. I cannot wait to get them.

I ordered a similar pair of Chinese Laundry boots (the top boot it in the post above this one) in a 9 1/2 because I really wanted them.
I guess I’ll just put in a Dr. Scholl’s insole and wear thick socks.
